Me, an
ambassador? So What's My Assignment?
Am • bás • sa • dor - noun.
(1) A diplomatic official of the highest
rank appointed and accredited as
representative by a sovereign to others; (2)
A diplomatic official heading his or her
country's permanent mission; (3) An
authorized messenger sent as a
representative.
The biblical use of "ambassador" in the
Greek is "presbeuo" which means, to be elder
or eldest, or to take precedence. Priority
is claimed because of received preeminence
and superiority.
"Therefore we are ambassadors for Christ as
though God were entreating through us…" (2
Corinthians 5:20)
"Go therefore and make disciples of all the
nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father and the Son and Holy Spirit, teaching
them to observe all that I commanded you."
(Matthew 28:19-20)
As disciples of Jesus Christ we are
ambassadors, citizens of heaven and official
messengers of the highest rank, sent on His
priority mission to, "Go, make disciples in
all nations."
