About Mark

Mark’s passion is to help Christians understand that if the gospel is true, it affects every aspect of reality, both intellectual and practical. By teaching, training, and discipling Christians, especially students, Mark’s goal is to help others foster a deep love for God and His Word, develop a biblical worldview, and engage in ministry using their spiritual gifts. He is currently preparing for full-time ministry through college and seminary studies. He is also seeking to clarify his calling and gain ministry experience through local church involvement, campus ministry, and serving with JARON.

In Dallas, TX, Mark was raised in a Christian home and made the decision to trust Christ at three years old. His most formative spiritual experience in early life was participating in the National Bible Bee. Through over five years of rigorous Bible study and memorization, God grew him in his love for God and God’s Word. Using the Scripture, he learned to transform his heart and mind. As a “church kid” growing up, Mark was blessed with pastors and mentors who encouraged him to follow Christ wholeheartedly. The church helped him to discover joy in Christian community and realize that no one can walk the Christian life alone. He also was able to serve in various ministries through high school and into college: training pastors on international trips with his grandfather, working part-time for a year with East-West Ministries International, volunteering in children’s ministry, and leading a college discipleship group. Through these experiences, he fell in love with doing God’s work, and his desire is to use all that God has given him to glorify Him and spread His kingdom.

As a teenager, Mark had the blessing and privilege of traveling with his grandfather to various parts of Africa and Asia, where they trained indigenous pastors. Seeing the dedication of these church leaders and the way God was using them was a profound experience. Mark realized that there is nothing he would rather do than devote his life to the advance of God’s kingdom around the world. These trips also introduced him to the joy of teaching; he has never felt more fulfilled than when helping others to discover and apply the truths of God’s Word. Since his mission trips, the counsel of family, friends, and pastors, along with experiencing the joy of ministry in college, have helped to confirm his calling.

Currently, Mark is studying history and Greek at Hillsdale College in Michigan. While at Hillsdale, he assists in his church’s junior high ministry and leads a dorm Bible study. He also serves as the chair of Equip Ministries on Hillsdale’s campus, which provides Christians with fellowship, intentional discipleship, and opportunities to discover and use their God-given gifts. Mark hopes to use his time at Hillsdale to grow in wisdom, build lasting friendships, and pursue campus ministry.

This summer, he is serving through JARON at Campus Bible Church in Fresno, CA, interning with their junior high, high school, and college ministry. His goal is to develop ministry skills and experience the life of a local church, as well as organize events and invest in students. After graduation, he plans to attend seminary, then engage in some form of full-time vocational teaching ministry, either in the local church, Christian education, international missions, or some combination of these. Mark is deeply thankful for God’s work in his life and eager to see what He has in store for him.
